I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving!

Mine was very relaxing – spent some quality time with family, ate too much pie… the usual. : )

I’ve also been happily busy, working on orders for the holidays – I’m so excited that people are liking my peppermint acorn ornaments! Those are a lot of fun to make – kind of methodical after awhile. And the colors keep me festive and excited for the holidays.

Speaking of holiday decor… how awesome is this felt doily by plytextiles?

I can definitely see this in the center of a big old rustic pine table, or as a base for a little winter display next to the Christmas tree.

I am experimenting this weekend with some new items, in between finishing up some custom orders. I’m trying out some new things with magnets and am excited about some new trees I’m working on. And I can’t wait to make some more birds and mice, I want to get a good collection going in my shop!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

My customers come up with the greatest ideas for displaying needle felted creations! I love how BrassIvyDesign (a fellow seller on Etsy – love her jewelry!!) used her little needle felted sheep in this adorable terrarium. So creative! They look so happy and at home in there!

I’ve been having a lot of fun needle felting trees. I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to achieve the triangle shapes, but I’ve been pretty happy with the results so far. There are so many different shades of green out there, and different embellishments I can put on the trees, so I have a feeling I’ll be spending a lot of time on these over the winter, they’re addicting! A couple photos below – each is linked to its Etsy listing. Thanks for stopping by!

Go Boston Etsy team!!

I’ve joined a team on Etsy, Boston Etsy! I’m so excited to network with other local craftspeople! It’s great to have this targeted community for support and to bounce ideas off of – I was so pleased to find out about it. I can’t wait to see where this all takes us as time goes on.

I created a treasury showcasing some really gorgeous holiday/winter-themed pieces created by Boston Etsy team members. Enjoy! Now off to make more holiday peppermint acorn ornaments!! 🙂

I just love Michele Maule‘s style. Her artwork is so darling, and she captures the feel of a moment so well. This is a particular fave of mine – and the dog looks so much like my Boston terrier Wally!

I love the bright colors and patterns!

One of my customers recently requested sets of ornaments, for her to give as gifts – a great idea! These little guys were a blast to make – I’m looking forward to making a lot more trees, in particular, as soon as I get a bit more time. Some with snow, some with little stars on top…

And of course sheep are always a blast to make! And so easy to personalize – I love making them in all different colors, some with scarves or little hats.

How adorable are these bird sculptures?

Custom bird sculptures by Laurie Coyle Designs

I included them as part of an Etsy treasury I created. I really appreciate the ingenius way in which the feet are designed, and how they stand freely so easily. Birds are so fun to make – you immediately get the most quizzical and adorable expressions, as soon as you apply two black dots and a little beak on there!

I love Laurie’s shop – I’m such a sucker for chickadees!
